Laser surgery of benign breast changes – Fibroadenoma
Benign breast changes are a relatively common occurrence during a woman’s life, but only some are treated surgically.
Removal of fibroadenoma
The most common type of benign breast tumor surgery is fibroadenoma (fibroma) surgery.
Breast fibroadenoma is a relatively common type of round, hard, mobile nodules that usually occurs in younger women as a result of increased secretion of the hormone estrogen.
Laser Fibroadenoma removal surgery is routine and extremely effective
A typical indication for surgical removal of a fibroadenoma is a nodule diameter greater than 1 cm, a woman’s age greater than 25 years, and the existence of subjective complaints. Namely, fibroadenomas can grow up to 10 cm, in which case pain and discomfort may occur in the chest area. This tumor should be operated on before the intended pregnancy because it can block the ducts of the mammary glands, causing inflammation of the breast (mastitis).
The operation is performed using a minimally invasive method under short-term general anesthesia, and the patient is discharged home shortly after the procedure. Visual observation of the operation is minimal or non-existent, while the wound heals almost without a scar.
